I bought a pug 405 TD last week as a money saving effort....its a K reg 1.8 TD, 160K, leccy windows, c/l, pas rust free car
came with 6months T&T and runs sweet as a nut. getting 50 to the gallon out of her on a run. went down to devon in it last weekend no problems.
2 owners...related.
got it for 280 quid so i am quite happy with that.
as a result of this, the chammy is off the road as T&T both up this month and i swapped the insurance over (again at no cost)
now what shall i do with the chammy?
I dont think ill get much for it if i just try and sell it...so i am thnking of breaking her...to make some money from her...maybe there are parts to go to the hatch to get that finished...plus i need to get it out the way...
must say i am reluctant to get rid but otherwise it will just sit on the drive forever like the grey one.
but she is quite rusty so makes me think i dont want to spend anything on it any more.
hmmm any other thoughts?

i think id rather break it than let someone else have it...funny i know...unless i knew the person.
only problem with breaking it is somewhere to do it and store the stuff...my garage is too full! but i guess there wouldnt be too much stuff...but knowing me i would horde everything off it! |

not a lot prolly Neal. the rust has been there for years, all mostly hidden by the skirts. might need some frt tyres i think, but not a lot else tbh.
would i make more in bits then selling whole? |

TBH if it can be MOTed, I'd do that and sell it from the drive. If it's just tyres, put a good set on for the MOT and then swap back to sell it.
I don't think you'll make much breaking, plus there's the hassle of it hanging around and you having to arse about with it when you could be doing something useful. |

sell it whole, trust me on that one!
The prices of the cars is creeping up, ebay prices are now averaging about 4/500 whilst 2 months back it was at most 200.
get it polished up, ckeaned inside and all the crap out of it then get some nice sunset pics or somehtign of it and get it on the bay and in the paper for 750. |

if i sell it whole then i will take the willy head off and return it to stock.
the willy head will fetch more on its own plus a whole car,....after a refurb of course as it taps like a lot.

Not you as well! It might be a hard thing to do, emotional attachment to cars and all that, but once your PH1 is up and running she'll be your baby that you brought back from the brink and lovingly restored!
As Chris has noted, eBay prices are creeping up. Liams blue chamade made £800 on eBay 3mts ago with 122k I'm pretty sure with a decent advert (I'll help you write it if you want), 12mts MOT your red one should get £800+ and your not going to get anywhere near that if you break it especially if you factor your time into that which I know is something of a premium for you at the moment.
MOT it, take a load of pics, catch me on MSN we'll whip up an advert, £1 start no reserve winner takes all. Trust me |
