Alright people.
Have a problem with my brothers renault 5 1.4 gts (single point injection).
It is idleing very high and drinking a lot of fuel (more than my clio 16v).
I have checked all the hoses and they are all fine, any ideas?
Tried screwing in the bolt on the idle solenoid but it makes no difference as it just changes it back.
I thought CTS but would it make such a massive difference to the idle like that?
Any help would be much appreciated.

lol scrap it, unless hes prepared to sink hundreds of pounds into it.
CTS may help, but a new one is 120 quid, yes one hundred and twenty. Its the worst efi system ever on any car.
they all do this eventually and thats time to either drop a 16V in or scrap it.
if he has to keep it pull the map sensor pipe off and leave it open, it will drop the idle down a lot. Don;t expect it to ever pass an mot again on emmisions. |
