Hi people, nice to find a site that does what it says on the label, hats off 2 u all.
The problem i have is... my babe dos'nt start 1st time any more ,infact its become a right chore,it struggles to pick up for the 1st 15-20 secs, then she revs up to 1200rpm[like normal], after another say 5-10 secs she tries to die again, this is then repeated until it starts to warm up.
Now once warm and ready to drive [idle still a tad irratic] i find under load a lack of power, fuel con has gone up to. Normal idle is approx 800rpm,ive changed fuel filter,plugs,leads..... any help would be gratefully recieved

on the end of the cylinder head on the passengers side. older models have it screwed into the head whereas later models have it screwed into the thermostat housing on the side of the head. it has a square connector on it. usually white. not brown and round as that is the sender to the dash.
when u unscrew it watch out for coolant pissing out. just plug it with your finger until u get the new one in.
but if your pulling it off an old p1, unless it had it replaced, its prolly old and knackered too...they are only about 8 quid or so from GSF. best get a new one. |

Well Johnnyboy u r THE MAN
I swapped over the CTS from the ph1 to the ph2 and BINGO,started 1st time.....i let it warm for couple of mins..then took it 4 a blapp to the shell garage 4 some opimax... its so much more responcive,it almost feels like my old LHD Ph1....it still wobbles a bit[50-100rpm] at idle, but to be honest i had preped myself to removing fuel tanks, pumps etc....so a big thanks to u and this site 4 being so dahm informative
now where's my sleeping bag? & what time is breakfast? |
