I'd put a PH1 arse / skirts / wheels on it if it were me.
£100 reserve not met is a bit steep for a none runner tho |

£100 start - reserve not met steep!
Car that doesn't go is only worth the sum of its parts, £100 reserve not met says to me at least £350 reserve. |

yes but if you look at the price of engines lately you could ask 100 - 150 just for that with out the box. |

Addie likes to get things as cheap as he can bb. (so do i tbh)
he's just pointing out how he feels that would be more than he would pay. however i would be inclined to pay £100 for it too.
Addie, prices have gone up since last year mate, the days of a £25 valver have gone for now. |

I disagree - its all about 'right place, right time'. Cars that need repairs are never cheaper over the summer months as any man and his dog can fiddle with them on a driveway or the street, while in the winter months its only those with heated garages who want to be fettling.
That grey one i posted in general was £400 taxed/tested no faults - if you use that as a marker, then what is a none-runner untaxed/tested example worth? Sure a removed engine might be worth £150, but that can go in the boot of a car - a whole car however might not be worth so much.
bb - I've bought 3 valvers and never paid more then £250 for them. Each time they've been MOT'd (10mts, 2mts, 12mts) tested (3mts, 1mts, 1mts). That said, yours was on your door step and I would have considered paying the same had one been local too. As me and doc know only too well, valvers round here arn't always cheap!
If you don't want / need one all that badly, you can sit around and wait for the bargins. |

yea quite true, you do have to travle the odd 100 miles or so to get a cheap one nowdays.
and like you said, if you can wait then you will always find something cheap to pick up. |

so what your saying is mine and most other peoples cars are worth max 4 - 500 quid which is a load of shite the want and demand for valvers is increasing day by day and thats a fact...
other wise your saying either people are getting lost on ebay or bidding for fun cause who else would be paying these over the odd prices?? (as said)
silly people yea |

Thats exactly what I'm saying, its only WORTH £500 tops, thats not to say certain people won't pay over the odds for them - that doesn't make them worth anymore. If a mint Ph1 with 60k can't sell for over £600 then whats the rest of them worth?
Come Novemeber, we'll be back to £25 valvers again - you wait and see. |
