Renault 19 DT, the accelerator pedel is dead stiff, the cable is free as a bird but the diesel pump is quite stiff, is there an easy fix?
Any help would be great!

water can run onto the throttle shaft and sieze it up, but tbh that spretty rare, try wd-40 on it, work it back and forth, if it bleeds rusty stuff then you have a water condensing issue.
Or the pumps fooked. |

How do you check if pumps fooked?

well theres a lot of ways, emmisions, strip it, etc
sometimes injectors can mask a pump problem, the crack off presure can reduce on the injectors and mask a dying pump etc.
basically live with the stiff pedal, if/when it breaks bin the car. |

I had 2 19 DT's, One pedal was stiff, the other not so. It came down to the return spring on the thorttle arm on the injection pump. |
