Today I was driving along a national speed limit road doing about 60mph, and almost had my car written off by some stupid woman. Basically there is a garden centre on the left hand side of the load and a car on the opposite side of the road to me was waiting to turn into the garden centre. The driver let the car in front of me past (about 100m infront) and then started to cross my side of the road to go into the garden centre but did so at about 2mph. This left me in a right bugger of a situation as there was another car on the other side of the road so I couldn't go round the back of her car. I broke as hard as possible, but as it was so damp I couldn't brake that hard without locking up meaning I wasn't slowing that much. Luckily in the end I missed the car by going in a gap between the rear of the car that had crossed the road the car on the other side of the road, but quite literally only had about half a foot to spare either side of my car. I could even see the look of "oh sh*t" on the driver of the car on the other side of the road as he thought I was about to hit him.
I quite often get annoyed with things on the road like anyone else but have never been this angry with anyone. Without thinking I turned round and pulled into the garden centre to find out what the f**k the driver was thinking but they had already left their car and gone inside. Probably just as well as I was absolutely fuming.
I know everyone has their stupid moments but I even saw this woman turn and look at me about to hit here car and she didn't even put her foot down to get out of the way - she just carried on at about 2mph.

yeah, no doubt mate. It was just down that road when you turn left out the end of my street - so you can't even swerve off the road to avoid anything. |

What brakes you got on the 1.4? The pish bendix stockers? |

Yeah, just the standard brakes. They really are crap on th 1.4 Clios tbh. Always meant to upgrade them but never got round to it. |

1.4 girlings are a massive improvement. use the same discs.
No point now that the cars going anyway eh. When the 16V gonan be ready? |

I think I might stick the original 16V calipers off my black hatch on Lisa's clio RT as it has the bendix setup... just need some discs.... |

thats another story, lol. Basically when I got the 16v I was getting insurance quotes of about £1000 tpft but now I am getting quotes of about £1200 tpft and at the moment I don't have the cash to pay it straight off till I sell one of the cars, and don't want to pay an extra 18.5% for direct debit. Half considering selling the 16v and waiting to get a better example as I didn't realise the amount of problems when I bought it.
I'm just being lazy with it tbh but should be ready in the next few days. Just doing wee bits and pieces like dogbone mount tomorrow and I'll see how it drives but I need to sort the sliders on the brakes and a lot of other wee things.
I'll then go for a spin in it and decide if I'm going to keep it or not. |

you'll need 16V discs and big wheels to accomoate them.
Unless you get rsi carriers and discs.
Using them on the solid discs will have the piston right out. |

Yeah its got steelies atm and the tyres don't have that much life left in them anyway so instead of replacing them I'll be getting a set of alloys with decent tyres off the bay. |
