Hi just bought a GT with 16v conversion to use as track toy / race toy

Not sure of history but build and parts used lead me to think possibly a ex cup car converted for sprinting has be road registered on a Q plate

Will be recomissioning and aiming to be on track end August

cheers mate should be good to get her going again, I must admit the webbers were a main attraction as I have run cars with bigger engines but then faced issues with wiring ecus alarm modules.

She seems very lively when i drove her round the block, I am going to sort out the plastic windows and then book a track day to see what she can do.

welcome 1 16v 5 to another. for info on the chassis it might be worth trying to contact the rs factory in Dieppe (Gordini as in Gordini Turbo GT) as this is where they were built or Radbourne racing as the kits were supplied to the uk through them.

Thanks for that there is a small id plate on front turret I will do some digging

How do you find yours on road, as I am new to 5's and no history cam with car it runs fines drives fine but Iam a little lost with parts, would it have used the clio box with 5 shafts?

As I like to get a big box of spares but having zero knowlegde of these little french rockets puts me on the back foot.

Stock 220 tubro tomcat 200 bhp with very minor mods 220 bhp anything much higher then decent internals needed otherwise they go pop.

the VVC version 143bhp and the 1.6 K series 108 bhp

VVC are tricky to catch as K series engine is very light and powerfull

The turbo driven properly can be dificult to keep with, however driven badly tooo much lag especially on roundabouts and understeer light pigs

Hi pete,

well I'm now 3 feet shorter than when I started driving it Laughing properly setup they do handel well though.

the 5 gtx 19 16v and clio 16v is pretty much them same box the casing is exactly the same, just the ratio's are different. all the mounting points are the same.

got any questions this is the place to ask. you won't find a more helpfull or knowledgeable bunch than here pete.

mine is a 16v efi engine standard cams injectors etc. its still pretty lively though Very Happy Very Happy
