my box jumped out of 5th gear while driving along normally now it wont go into 1st 3rd or 5th so im now looking for a new box, i hear the mk1 clio 1.9 diesel has exacly the same box??? is this right sounds a bit weird??? my box number is JB 3083 :shock: |

diesel boxes are stronger but slower so dont bother if you want strenght then you want the JC5 box but prices are high |

aww how much slower whats the difference in gear ratio? mine does at the moment 40 in 1 60 in 2 90 in 3 ?? looks like il have to go for the diesel box im quite desperate need car for work monday and theres a dielsel box near me for £70 :cry: |

be around 30 in 1st, 70 ish in 2nd, 5th will be under 3krpm at 70mph. |

slower accel and lower top speed due to gearing thats to long which reduces torque at the wheels. |

i need a box tomorrow :cry: what boxes have the same ratio and will fit straight on my 19 16v phase 2 plus box numbers if u know mines JB 3083 thanx |

just been searching the forum and it seems a lot of gear boxes are interchangable, it would be gd if some1 could post some sort of list and differences, will a r19 1.4ie phase 2 box fit me 19 16v phase 2 |

all boxes will fit, they all have different ratios thats it.
Just avoid the very latest boxes, as the starters on the othjer side. |
