Because its different and it has not been a car that the modded scene took to, yes there are quite a few examples of barried 19's out there but no where near as much as your novas, escorts, clios, saxos etc etc
It handles reasonably well with a good turn of speed, its comfy, i can drive it for hours without feeling tired at the end of the journey, it gives me an adrenalin rush when i push it, it still performs as good if not better than many modern cars, the look of it, ahhhh there are many reasons why i love it |

Good car to blast up the side of moutain with.
And to come down with.
Took it over the highest montain pass in Europe last Sunday 2700 meters Coll de la Bonette, going up to Barcelonnette for a bicycle ride. (OK 124km with3300 meters of climbing on the bike)
Coming back over la Bonette in the the car that evening I ran into a thunder storm on the decent towards Nice.
Car was a gas to drive. Good breaks, good gripp, plenty of power. A lot of poping and banging on lift off as the Cats off. The noise coming back off the rock wall as you rev it to 7000.
Good car.
And room in the back for bikes. |

A point I cant get across to my other half, she just wont have it! Theres a chap who comes into work with 2 baby seats in the back of his but she still thinks the are not practical.
Anyhoo, the way it looks & sounds. The rattles give it some character, its comfy, economical, quick enough, rare, big boot, lots of space under the bonnet and finally CHEAP! |

"The rattles give it some character"
Quite true, apart from that it's just generally a sexy beast! I always feel a bit of guilt when i think the first person that ever bought my 16v must have really loved it and treasured it and now I use it merely for spanner practise (OK he did 60k in the first 2 years the bastard). But now, I appreciate it probably more than it ever has been. Aaaaahh! |
