found a chammy executive

i know i am doing in too many peoples heads in with the story of my valver search .but had to share this with you . i found an m reg chammy executive full leather with williams alloys,still taxed and tested ,have not seen the car yet .the old fella i spoke on the phone said it belongs to his son so he is not able to say much about the car ,he says the exhaust is a bit noisy as much as i could understand from his strong welsh accent(no offence to anyone ,i am a foreigner myself ,thats probably why i could not understand him well)
anyway will wait for the owner and give him a call later today .there is something definitely wrong with this car as the asking price is 200quid.
what shall i ask him on the phone before i go to view the car ?????
i forgot to ask the color ,god damm it.
by the way williams alloys ? are these the ones i see on clio williams in gold color? if they are ,they would be worth more than 200 quid anyway

yes the gold ones if they are williams wheels.

Ask him whats wrong with it, thats a good start.

Exhaust being noisy isn't really a problem tbh.

Engine/clutch/box might be fooked but at that price its cheap enough to sort anything out. Another engine and box start from around 200quid.

i got to wait for this guy till 7pm tonight and will give him a call then .i did not ask a lot on the phone to the old man cause did not understand him well really,but i remember him sayin there is a spare gearbox as well ,but he said a lot and i could understand a few ,i can even understand a scottish man(lol) after 2 years over here but this man was really a big challenge for me .
is there any known scams about noisy exhausts ?

They rust, if its rusty get a new exhaust.

well he said (i think he said as far as i understood) it passed the mot ,so that would not be possible with a dead cat ,anyway there is not much we can speak now ,i will have to wait for the owner and speak to him first.
do you reckon they got the price wrong or something ? i cant believe an m reg exec. with williams alloys going for that price !!!

well you see some people are just daft.

if you buy the yellow.blue paper up here you will see G plate 1.4's goign for 5/600 but 16Vs going for a more realistic Â£150 up to 1300 for a ph2 16V exec

for some reason they think the crap models are worth more.

Saw a ph2 M plate 1.4 prima, in white Â£2100 with no tax and 1 months mot and it was a bargain apparently.

I'm suprised its that cheap, even if its broken, cars are horribly over priced here in wales. People are somewhat deluded at what their cars worth.

i could really do with a bit of help jonny,i called the guy just 10 mins ago and found out we quite misunderstood eachother in the first call .there is apparently a guy that is supposed to pick the car up today but did not turn up yet .so i am not the only one after the car ,the oldman says,if the guy dont turn up tonight,i can have the car .so i will give him a call in the morning now. the old man confirmed the alloys are real williams alloys,thats good . i asked him why he is selling the car,the car belongs to his son he is doing many miles and they bought him a diesel astra ,chammy has to go . its got mot till feb or march he is not sure tax till december .interior is good as he says no rips etc. he has a spare gearbox not sure if its a valver box though . he has got the logbook etc. doesnot know the milage and as he told me his son is the 2nd owner of the car .
i will call him tomorrow

he said people expect something to be wrong with it but its running well apart from the noisy exhaust ,these are his words .i think its well worth a look ,i hope that guy dont turn up till tom. morning than i can have a look .lucky enough i get paid on friday .
