Hi is reverse on the 16v just like any other clio? Lift up, left and up?
When I try to do it on the 16v it makes like a clank noise, like metal is hitting something and wont go into gear? Has it got big problems? Also on idle it goes a bit low then a bit high before going back to normal, could this be because the fuel pump is shafted? (As it whines and leaks) |

yes the same
the rod might be hitting the exhauist, common problem, just adjust it.
how do you knwo the fuel pumsp leaking, its inside the tank! if you can see petrol leaking from a pump like object then thats the aux tanks lift pump.
idle problem could be anythign but doubtfull its the pump. |

Ahh right cheers, well it does sound like a metallic clank, Ill have a look.. it begs the question though, how did the previous owner cope!
Well when I get it sorted and on the Road I'll give it a thrash on the motorway as it has been stood for 3months!
Yeah the leak is coming from something that looks like a smaller baked bean can and I think that's where the whining is coming from, is this a difficult problem? |
