Sorry BB i dont think the bloke in the golf was really trying to hard. rev counter was no where near where it could be if he really wanted to cain it. ive seen some of those golfs in action and they are rapid. + VW are also known for being slightly economical with their power figures. and im not sure a R19 valver will still produce 137bhp after 10 - 15 years of normal use unless well cared for.
Im not bitching about the R19 16v just putting a point of view across, R19's rock but not as much as R5's  |

lol, so in top gear where if it changes down on the golf it will be above the red line means its not where it can be?
i have humped lods of them they are not that fast.
I love the way stupid people say they are conservative with their power figures cos some mag made a daft comment yeras ago.
It doesn't work like that,. More fool you for thinkinh it does.
BHP sells cars, they say 150 and mean 200, they say 200 not 150 or 190 etc. |

yea ive killed loadsa golfs, skodas, seats and audi's always seen them close by but in the rear view
i have a friend with a bright yellow cupra sport and he cant belive when he eats my dust
also done a ford asbo (st) and thats 2.5T
think R19 7+secs if not 7sub 0-60 and these modern cars with bigger engines and turbo and more power are alot heavier so shite
anything that is blitzed by my 1.8 atmo will never get any respect from me
half the time on these new cars the turbo is for efficency and fuel economy not power |

Im now laughing my ass off as it didnt take long to get what i thought was gonna happen.
Sorry Chris stupid no dopey yes. I agree BHP figures are crap but dont sell cars people buy golfs cause they are good a little fat but good,
I dont watch much top gear as its not my thing. and if the factory understates a bhp its only by about 5 or 10 break at the most.
Fair play if you have managed to savage some 1.8t golfs in the past you must have a well sorted valver. But is it standard?
Still not slagging the valver off just having a debate. |

yea standard except my modded TB and airfilter o and de-cated cat
i did get cocky one day and race a black twin tail piped one up the M5 and get badly batter til i found out it was a big proformace companys show car with like 350bhp
so into 4th and chased the pulsar behind which he didnt like as he couldnt breach to much of a gap
now got a ph1 bo and diff exhaust which i havent fitted and reground rn1601 cams (which acording to the chart are good for 16bhp lmao ) |

lol munch away and drive a golf or seat. They are not quick.
Standard 19/clio will hump them.
My best one was sittign right up the arse of a 52 plate one abotu 3 years back, he thought he'd leave my sheddy 19 chammy, I was flashign him out the way from 130, overtook him at 140 and then went ahead and slowed down for him to pass and waved at his mrs!
no manufacturer ever ever plays down power figurer. |

if thats what a valver can do i cant wait to get an engine in the R5. just didnt realise that the valvers where that quick i know they are quick but not shit quick.
Whats the difference in weight from a r19 valver to a r5?
I always fancied a cupra r or something like that perhaps i shouldnt bother wasting my money on it (or the finance in my case) |

i have seen very close up a twin engined lime green mark 3 vr6 golf at castle combe a couple of years ago, that was mentalist, it was so bloody quick the bloke driving it managed to spin it half way down the start finish straight just by nailing it. he ended up in the long grass on the in field. spoke to him after in the pits and he was laughing his nuts off about it.
people who drive cars like that shouldnt be called drivers they should be called pilot's |
