Hi peeps just had an offer of an r21 turbo on an e plate tonight for £600 no tax or test hasnt been used for a few years (or turned over) and has an unknown fault garaged but mint body and totaly original. £600 sounds a bit high i recon and i dont have a clue about the 21 any buying advice appreciated on problem areas to look for. Im not affraid to get stuck in on a project and get dirty. What are the prices like for 21 turbo bits and what do you recomend to do with the engine if i purchase it (rebuild etc as it hasnt been run for a few years). What do you think i should be paying for a car of this state? I know i have asked alot of Q's lately about various renaults but im looking for another car aswell as keeping my R5 and want something old school.

Thanks Chris i didnt realise they were that cheap i was led to beleive they were rare as i havent seen one for ages, any ideas on things to look for on the 21 that go wrong or problem areas?

rust and split liners, cooling system will basically go bang when it boosts, make sure there is some turbo boost, if theres not good chance someone has backed it way off to prevent the cooling system getting 1 Bar or whatever of boost thrown into it. |
