Hi,
While braking in my clio 16v, i can hear a clicking sort of knocking noise coming from the rear of the car.
Thing is i went to the gargae and told them about this and they couldnt find anything wrong
Any ideas? |

I would have hoped the garage would have picked up on that :O
Ive been told it could possibly be a loose calliper or a stciking pad? |

won't be a sticking pad, might be a missing pad retaining plate.
check its not cracked, take the pad carrier off and tap it with a hammer it should ring, if it doesn't then its cracked.
since the carrier will be off you can check the rest of it as well. |

What was it that caused the noise?
I'm having a similiar problem that only occurs when I'm coming to stop. It kicks in about 20mph (or thats when i notice it at least) then gets slower and slower in time with the wheel speed until i come to a stop.
I'm guess its something to do with the brakes (it comes from the front right), If I remember correctly the springing bolt on the caliper was seized on the left and very stiff on the right, a possible cause? (my mate said it was like that on his old one and fine)
I originally thought it was the pas pump being f00ked causing the belt to skip and click, but its so consistent with the slowing down thing. |
