Right this bloke is a case and half! Here's what I put:
Just a couple of things mate:
The paint is 449 Sports Blue, a standard Renault colour, it's not a flip paint at all.
Also, the wheels are not limited edition, you can find them on any Phase 1 Clio 16v.
His reply?
Quote: |
right i worked for renault and the car is williams blue which is flip paint! blue purple and green! ask renault how much a can is then! and the wheels are from a williams clio yes, but they are silver not gold! and not any phase 1 clio! also if you read it states no time wasters and thats wat ur doing! if your bidding get lost! |
To which I've replied:
If you worked for Renault then you'd know those wheels are from no Williams Renault! The only wheels that came on a Williams are gold multispokes!
Muppet. |

|
he then amended his auction but still maintains that they are ltd edition williams wheels hehe

Just sent him this:
"Mate seriously... those wheels are standard phase 1 clio 16v wheels. No clio EVER came with those wheels in gold, least of all the williams clio. Go and and find one picture - just ONE - of a clio with those wheels in gold. While you're looking, find ONE picture of a williams clio with those wheels (in either gold OR silver) on it.
Then look up some pictures of standard phase 1 clio 16Vs. See the wheels? Yes, same as yours.
Anyway we are discussing this here:
http://www.retro-renault.com/viewtopic.php?p=86565#86565
However you clearly know better than all of us here at Retro-Renault!
Good luck with the sale!"

Oh and again BTW... 449 sports blue is williams blue in the sense that it is the colour of phase 1/2 williams clios... they went to 432 monaco blue for the williams 3. |

yes but 449 blue was used on the 19 before there was a williams clio so really the name for it williams blue is really not correct, it only really became known as that after the williams clio came out, i have no issue with the cars paint known as williams blue, it also makes a good selling point for the car because you can associate it with the williams.
Other ppl call it sports blue and again why not, that shade was only used on the sportier models afaik
(and forgive the rambling, i am smoking some rather good weed ) |

i used the blue 16v on purpose Ben or otherwise i would used a picture of your fine (does it go yet) clio
i used the blue one to show how similar the cars look, 16v and williams but also to distingush between the wheels that each came fitted with as standard |
