Hey up, after lots of grief from dodgy bolts, locking wheel nuts and bad weather i've finally finished the setup! Steps below;
[IMG:886:665:e8239a3a01]http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/8278/b8rl1.jpg[/img:e8239a3a01]
Rnault 21 Turbo calipers as they started out, had them free'd up at a garage, and the coated in hammerite.
[IMG:1022:905:e8239a3a01]http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/9323/bracket6ny.jpg[/img:e8239a3a01]
Brackets, made to detailed plans by Simons mate.
[IMG:909:682:e8239a3a01]http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/2778/image12qp.jpg[/img:e8239a3a01]
Gf, having a go at one of the wheel nuts ha ha.

Ultra gay torx head bolt didn't want to come off so it was faced with a chisel and hammer.

Mole grips on the brake line as it didn't want to come off!

Old Vs New disk retaining bolt!!

Nasty old brake setup (this setup realy was crap). |

Loctite applied to all bolts.

Torqing all the bolts to the right ft/lb.

Pads in place :)

Temorary seal made with old boots and a bendy washer, to protect the slider pin.

Getting the arsey caliper bolts off the old setup, that were torqued too tight.

Shiney new 285mm x 21mm, vented disc.

Copper slip applied so the disc wont sieze to the hub again.

Washers placed so the bolt didn't go through the caliper and touch the disc. Also this type of bolt was extremely hard to find, and could only get it in this length, hence the washers. Also one one side I needed a washer between the bracket and hub but not on the other which leads me to believe it's a bracket problem. |

Finished product.

Before

After! Excuse the poor wheel condition!

Again the wheels are messed up but will be refurbed shortly.
So was this worth all the grief? Hell yeah. The braking compared to the old setup is immense. They bite a bit hard and locked today in the wet which was scary because I wasn't used to it. Went on to some dry road earlier and the stopping power is superb!! Deffinately worth all the effort! |

Wait i'm confused, I must have got it wrong because this engine is crap. It's the 1.4! Must have got the name mixed up with something else. |

1.4 energy engine is a better engine punch for punch than the 16V ever will be.
Did you not ask if I will do the conversion before? i said I would, get me and engine with loom and I will do it.
In case it was you I have not had any offered to me cheaply lately. |

Hey, well that really has suprised me. Thought 1.4, 8v 75bhp was quite average. It's proved fairly reliable and economical i must admit.
Chris yeah that was me but after our lovers tiff I thought you wouldn't have wanted to do it anymore :p. |
